The Loire Valley
5 days · Tours, Amboise & Chambord · Private driver-guide throughout
The Valley of Kings is best seen when the crowds have gone home. This short escape pairs the Loire's great Renaissance châteaux with doors that rarely open to visitors, a sunrise above the river, and wines pulled from cellars carved into the limestone.
Day 1 · Arrival Your chauffeur meets you and brings you to your château hotel. The afternoon is yours: wander Tours' medieval old town, then dinner at your leisure.
Day 2 · Chenonceau & Amboise A private guide leads you through Chenonceau, the "Château des Dames" arching across the Cher, and its Renaissance gardens. Lunch in royal Amboise, a visit to Clos Lucé, Leonardo da Vinci's final home, and a winery tasting to close the day.
Day 3 · Behind Closed Doors The owner of Château des Grotteaux, a hidden 17th-century estate, welcomes you personally: secret passageways, furnished salons, and a glass of Champagne. Cycle the forested Domaine de Chambord, then return after closing for a private visit to Chambord itself. You'll climb concealed staircases into lofts usually closed to the public, ending with Champagne.
Day 4 · Above & Below the Loire Rise early for a private hot-air balloon flight over the châteaux at dawn. Later, descend into troglodyte cellars in Rochecorbon for a private vertical tasting of Vouvray, with rare vintages reaching back decades, over local cheeses and charcuterie.
Day 5 · Onward A private transfer to the train or airport, for Paris or wherever comes next.
